The national Administration of aeronautics and space (NASA) has published the panorama of the olympic venues located in the cities south-Korean Pyeongchang and Gangneung, which have been filmed from space by the Landsat satellite-8.
The Monts Taebaek, which spread up to the north of the Korean peninsula, occupy the greater part of the stereotype. They are cut by gorges, while the plains appear only on the coast.
In the foreground we can see the city of Gangneung, located on the coast of the sea of Japan. During the olympic Games 2018, this city will host the competitions of figure skating, skating, hockey, short-track and curling.
A little further, there is the alpine ski resort Alpensia. All the competitions in the open air, as well as the opening ceremony and closing of Games 2018 will take place there.
The 2018 winter olympic Games will take place from 9 to 25 February in Pyeongchang.
